The start of something – First Guest Writer of 2012

I am delighted to introduce the first of The Casket of Fictional Delights Guest writers for 2012. Leonie Milliner’s story Statue, Part 1 of her Trilogy – Different Ways of Killing. Part 2 will be published next month – so watch out for Manufactory of Smells, an unusual tale.

When I first met Leonie she said she had three ambitions in her life. To build her own house, as a qualified architect this perhaps was the easy one. Second, to write a book. She is half way through writing her first novel, ‘Turncoat’s Daughter,’ set in Italy in 1755 and London in 1764. I have read some of this and she captures the atmosphere of the times beautifully. I look forward to reading the finished book when it is published. And as for being Prime Minister, just you watch out you grey suited men, because the first time I saw Leonie she was wearing a bright pink coat.

I hope you enjoy Statue as much as I do. Menna has done a wonderful job bringing Polly to life, and as I have been saying – Will Polly Be Ok? There is only one way to find out.
