May is the month of the Chelsea Flower Show so I have picked out from my collection one of my flower brooches. It was made by Albert Weiss who set up his company in New York in 1942, Albert retired in the 1960s when his son took over the business which finally closed down in 1971.

I won this brooch at an auction, via a telephone bid. It arrived in the post, dirty and dull looking. So I set to with my ultra-soft ‘baby’s toothbrush’ and some warm water and gently eased out all the years of dust and make-up stuck between the claws. Lo and behold glittering emerald coloured stones appeared.
