I was first introduced to Gail Klevan’s jewellery at the Dazzle exhibition.  This brooch is typical of her work – bright vibrant designs on acrylic.

Gail Klevan hails originally from Manchester but studied Jewellery and Silversmithing at the Royal College of Art in London where she won the Bakri Yehia prize for Excellence. Not to be outdone her native Lancastrian roots awarded her first prize in the Merseyside Craft Competition in 1995.

I quite often spot examples of her jewellery on people as it is easy to wear.  The bold designs are reminiscent of the Art Deco and the colour pallets used is flattering and subtle.  Gail’s work is exhibited widely and has been featured in a Japanese documentary.   Her brooches are easily available, check out her Face Book page. My brooch also has a pair of matching earrings.
