Alexander McCall Smith has written four very short stories on loneliness on his Facebook page. The introduction says “They are about a man who feels lonely because the world seems hostile to his values; about a young man who says very little and is lonely as a result; about a boy who is bullied at school and who longs for friendship; and about a woman who tackles the problem of loneliness in an innovative way. Each of the stories is also, in its way, about love.”
AMS captures human nature extremely well and clearly enjoys writing these character vignettes. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
